Machine Error 5A on the Brother DCP 8060, 8065, and MFC 8460, 8660

Fixing the Machine Error 5A on the Brother DCP 8060, 8065, and MFC 8460, 8660

Alright the Machine Error 5A is a high voltage Power Supply PCB malfunction on these Brother machines. First thing I would do is turn the machine off make sure it’s plugged straight into a wall outlet and not a surge arrest then back on. Second, I would turn it off, let it sit 20 to 30 minutes then try again. Third, since the high voltage power supply’s main function is to control power to the drum and toner, I would remove the drum and toner, check the contacts inside the machine and on the drum and toner unit then turn back on with the drum and toner out of the machine. finally before I replaced the power supply I would take it out and clean it up. Because of the location, I’ve seen toner leak down on the high voltage power supply and cause issues.  However, if everything fails to get results then the power supply will need to be replaced if the machine error 5A will not go away.
